Rowan University student Kasmier Vicioso, 23 received the inaugural EduContests Scholarship Award. Viciosio is a freshman and is pursuing a BS in Biochemistry as part of the seven-year accelerated BS/DO program with the Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine (SOM). Kasmier graduated at the top of her class from Camden’s Promise Charter School and was selected for the BS/DO program from a group of highly competitive applicants.
“Financial concerns and lack of resources are often barriers to students excelling academically, so this scholarship will provide needed financial support and allow Kasmier to focus on her studies, maintain the required GPA (3.6), and successfully complete the program,” commented Dr. Deneen Hendrick, Rowan’s Coordinator of Pre-Health Studies.
